So there it is: Three perspectives on an amazing tradition. We’ve chosen this tradition because it absolutely expresses what we hope to accomplish with our foundation. Furthermore, we’ve experienced it and feel oddly compelled to share it. For a year John lived in Georgia, working in the most depressed regions, delivering food stuffs to widows of the civil war. Ryan, too, has experienced this table. He travelled to Georgia this past summer and sat for many a toast. Ryan will also soon be on the ground, not in Georgia but in Sierra Leone. There he will reside in a mud hut and live humbly in an attempt to build authentic relationships and write amazing sustainable projects.

And so it is with great joy that we offer at least a tiny slice of this great tradition in hopes that you will begin to understand our work at First Things Foundation. We want you to share in our hopes for the future of the United States and the suffering poor across the globe.
